I have heard many noises in the general infosec community claiming this. And I can see where they are coming from.
While the actual software of MSF is awesome, the module idea is a great idea. The actual use and source of modules has become so widespread, any module posted to it becomes instantly well known and patched along the board.
On one hand this is a great thing, security is improving. But on the other hand, it makes our jobs as security experts more challenging.
Is this a good or a bad thing, and what are your thoughts on Metasploit? And how much success do you generally find using Metasploit?
