After so many discoveries in the last 12 month alone, even the most tech illiterate people should have woken up that the stuff that they are using on a daily basis is probably not even remotely secure.
Still people dont even think or ask about things. Sad to see imho
Also to add on this. A lot of these companies probably know these backdoors because they implemented some themselves either for their own or of behalf of orgs like the NSA.
After some independent researcher or bug hunter discovers them they act innocent and surprised
