About 0x00Sec

0x00sec is a community run by security professionals for beginners, students, developers, engineers, security professionals, the curious and anyone else interested in information and cyber security.

Our core purpose is to support learners, nurture curiosity, and create a place where people can grow through shared knowledge and collaboration. The field is vastly broad, fast-moving, and often intimidating. It's filled with scattered resources, inconsistent quality, and little guidance on where to start or how to grow. People at all experience levels benefit from having a place where they can ask questions, share progress, study real techniques, and learn without pressure in a collaborative and welcoming environment.

We run 0x00Sec because we want this community to be a reliable home for learning, a place where anyone, from beginner to expert, can participate, contribute, and evolve.

Our Standards

We hold ourselves to strict ethical expectations. Every piece we publish must reflect the following principles:

  1. Highest ethics and strong integrity
Our work prioritizes honesty, safety, and professionalism. We avoid sensationalism, drama, or anything that misrepresents the truth.
  2. Impartial and transparent
We disclose limitations, uncertainties, and assumptions. Research is presented as-is, not as we wish it to be.
  3. Operate within the law
All content, testing, and demonstrations follow legal boundaries. We do not encourage or facilitate illegal activity.
  4. Responsible Disclosure
Any vulnerability related research follows a coordinated disclosure process with vendors or CERTs.
  5. Do no harm
We take active measures to avoid enabling real world harm. We do not publish identifying information about people or systems unless sourced from published disclosures, announcements.

Editorial Process

To protect quality, accuracy, and ethics, every article or lab passes through a structured editorial workflow:

  1. Peer review for technical accuracy
At least one peer verifies methodology, correctness, clarity, and the educational value of content. External expertise is sought where necessary.
  2. Ethical standards review
Editors verify that the work aligns with our ethical commitments, avoids, dual-use harm, and complies with legal and disclosure requirements.
  3. Revision and refinement
Authors receive feedback and are expected to make necessary changes before publication.

All contributors - internal or external - are held to these standards without exception.

We welcome contributions from the community, and we actively encourage people to share knowledge and ideas. However, we reserve the right to edit, adapt, or decline submissions to ensure they meet our ethical, legal, and editorial criteria.
